wake up ‘n smell the class struggle!
what is marxism now?
a bed-in for unawareness!
all we are saying is give marxism a chance!
WE are moving the bed into the studio following Joseph Beuys’
admission that the studio is in the breath and French artist Annette
Messengers call that the bedroom is the studio. What is to be done
when we give ourselves permission to speak intimately from this
horizontal plane? We can read to you about Marxist practice, the
Coming Insurrection, social organization, and art therapy as social
action. Hot on the heels of the 1969 bed-in activist
performance piece by Yoko Ono and John Lennon who plead “GIve peace a
chance”, from our 24h bed-in we will make art, perform, and engage
historical materialism, capitalism, critique, and the potential for
something new. When Marcel Duchamp asks “why make art now?”, we ask
“how soon is now?”.
